Here are five thoughts on the weekend that was in Massachusetts high school football.

1. King Philip bounced back from a tough loss to Mansfield by pounding a good Franklin team 35-14. The Warriors are alive and well in D2 South.

2. North Andover is legit folks. If you didn’t think so before, Friday night’s beat down of Tewksbury should be a wake up call.

3. After beating Braintree 28-6, I think it’s safe to say that Needham is on people’s radar. They are more than just Duke recruit Matt Smith.

4. Mashpee won their 24th in a row last weekend. Their is a good chance they go undefeated once again now that they’ve navigated through the toughest part of their schedule.

5. St. John’s Prep proved they are one of the best teams in the state and a legit contender D1 North by physically dominating a good CM team.
