Harvard Preview: Cornell Big Red (1-2) at Harvard Crimson (2-1)

Harvard’s defense looks to lead the charge today against Cornell.

The Crimson will look to make it three straight home wins when Cornell visits Cambridge today. The weather is going to be cold, raw and rainy. Perfect weather to run the football.

Here three keys to the game for Harvard.

1. Pound the Rock: The Crimson have run the ball well the last two games and today is the perfect weather to pound the rock. Give Cornell a heavy dose of Devin Darrington, DeMarkes Stradford and Adam Bourget. Jam it down their throats and set a physical tone.

2. Stay hungry on defense: The defense is starting to play with more confidence. They have only given up 24 points in their last two games. Cornell struggles offensively averaging just 15 points per game. Today is a good opportunity for a young defense to get even better.

3. Play mistake free: Other than the San Diego game, Harvard has done a good job of taking care of the football. They must continue to take care of the ball and limit the penalties. If they do, they should be able to take care of business today against a team they are better than.

Final score: Harvard 42 Cornell 14: The Crimson should take care of business today and complete the three game home sweep. Cornell just doesn’t have the skill to match up with Harvard.
