Matt Crowley and St. John’s Prep will look to bounce back from a loss to CM when they visit B.C High.
Here are top games to watch for week 7. There are several key with potential seeding implications.
#2 St. John’s Prep Eagles at B.C High Eagles: The Prep will look to bounce back after a tough loss to CM. B.C High is big and physical and they flexed their muscles last week against Bishop Fenwick but the Prep is a much stiffer test. St. John’s skill will give B.C High problems and that is where the Prep can win this game. On the perimeter.
#12 St. John’s Shrewsbury (3-2) at Xaverian (1-4): The Hawks have struggled thus far and a big reason for that is a lack of athleticism. They just don’t have the athletes to match up with some of the teams on their schedule. Xaverian faces a stiff test against an STJS team that has a lot of speed and athleticism. I just don’t see how Xaverian will match up against Jay Brunelle and Eamonn Dennis.
#5 Natick Redhawks at Newton Newton Tigers: Natick Will face a tough road test against Andrew Landry and the Tigers but the RedHawks are just the better team and their skill and depth will ultimately be the difference in this one. I just don’t see this team letting up. I wouldn’t bet on an upset here despite the fact that the Tigers have skill and are explosive.
#10 Holliston Panthers at Ashland Clockers: The Panthers stiffest year yet. Ashland is well coached, efficient on offense and plays good defense. The question is, do they have the athletes to match up with Holliston and win this game? On the surface, the answer is no but Clockers coach Andrew McKay gets a lot of out of his kids. Expect this game to be closer than you think.
#23 Revere Patriots at #15 Marblehead Magicians: The Patriots have been flying under the radar. If they want to get people’s attention, then the best way to do it is to beat Marblehead. It won’t be easy slowing down the Magicians but Revere has the athletes to match up and that’s always the key when matching up against Marblehead.
#24 Reading Rockets at Winchester Sachems: The Rockets are establishing themselves as the team to beat in D2 North. They will face a Winchester team that is well coached and balanced. They will pose problems for the Rockets but they may not have talent to win this game, especially if it is tight. Reading’s experience might be the difference in this one.
