Harvard will look to bounce back from a tough 14-13 loss to Dartmouth last week. The Crimson deserved a better fate than losing on the last play of the game. It has been an up and down season for the Crimson so Columbia allows them to steady the ship and get the offense back on track.
Here are three keys to the game.
1. Get the offense going again: The Harvard offense has been stagnant the last three weeks. Today offers an opportunity to get back on track. Jake Smith and company need to get back to their identity. Run the football and set up play action down the field.
2. Front seven must dominate: Columbia has struggled in pass pro this season. The Crimson defense should have no problem getting consistent pressure. The defensive line has exceeded expectations this season. Look for them to continue to dominate today.
3. Don’t overlook them: Look, Columbia is not very good from a talent standpoint but coach Al Bagnoli knows what he is doing and he has a good staff. If the Crimson go into this game thinking they have this game won, they will be a tight contest.
Final score: Harvard 35 Columbia 14: The Crimson should bounce back this week but games like this are tricky. Harvard should win but they will get Columbia’s best effort so expect this game to be competitive early on.
