Boston College picked up two more commitments for the Class of 2021 this week with the additions of hybrid safety/linebacker Trevin Wallace out of Georgia and Athlete Jonas Sanker out Virginia. Both Wallace and Sanker are unranked but they have the size and the skill to garner more attention.
At 6-2 217, Wallace is built more to play in the box as a Will linebacker. He is athletic enough to make plays underneath in coverage and he can cover backs out of the backfield. In this era of three down “hybrid” linebackers. Wallace has the physical tools to fit that position.
Sanker profiles more as a strong safety at 6-2 193. The frame is there to add more weight and play the hybrid spot but given his athleticism and coverage skills, Sanker might be better off playing over the top.
With the commitments of Wallace and Sanker, Boston College now has 18 commitments for the Class of 2021. Jeff Hafley and his staff are far from done however. They will pick up a few more commitments in the coming weeks.
Hafley and his staff continue to focus on the defensive side of the ball in recruiting. Hafley wants to run the football and play great defense. It worked when he was in San Francisco and at Ohio State and it can work at Boston College.
