If you don’t know who St. John’s Prep athlete Joenel Aguero is, you will found out soon enough.
Aguero is the most highly touted prospect to come out of Massachusetts in a long time and that is saying a lot when you consider all of the talent the state has produced in recent years.
Aguero is the class of 2023 yet he already holds 11 offers, nine of which are from power five conferences. Just this week he was offered by Ohio State and USC.
Aside from those programs, Aguero also holds offers from Boston College, Ole Miss, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, Nebraska, Tennessee, UMass and William & Mary.
Aguero played wide receiver and safety last year for the Prep. He has tantalizing upside as a receiver but his best position might be free safety.
Aguero diagnoses plays quickly and has terrific closing speed. He also has elite ball skills and can go up and play the ball in one on one situations.
After watching him on tape, it is no surprise Aguero is already so highly recruited. It is scary to think that he has three more years of high school eligibility left. The sky is the limit for him.
