Series Record: These two teams have been playing since 1895, with Barnstable holding the smallest of margins thanks to a win last year, 65-64-9.
A look at the Rivalry: When you’ve played this long you’re bound to have some memorable moments and there have been plenty. Barnstable won the first ever Thanksgiving meeting 16-0 in 1905. For a few reasons, the game wasn’t played annually on Thanksgiving until 1926, and they’ve met every year (except for two) since.
In 1932 the teams didn’t meet, and then also in 1943 Falmouth only played a single game because of World War II. Falmouth rode a four game winning streak into last year’s title before falling 47-14. The win was extra special for the Red Raiders, not only winning the “Selectman’s Cup” but also the Cape & Islands League Atlantic championship.
